UPDATE: Mitt hits back.{/%CAPTION%} {%BODYCOPY%}The Obama campaign is flipping Mitt Romney the bird—Big Bird. “Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about; it’s Sesame Street,” a sinister voice says in a new attack ad. In last week’s debate, Romney promised to cut federal spending for PBS, a longtime target of conservatives, essentially putting Big Bird’s head on the chopping block. The minute-long video—a humorous take on the typical attack ad—has drawn flak from Republican lawmakers, NBC News,, even “Sesame Street” itself. On Tuesday, Sesame Street Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind the beloved children’s show, called for the reelection campaign to remove the ad. “We have approved no campaign ads and, as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down,” it said. Mitt Romney responded to the attack ad on Tuesday, telling a crowd of supporters in Iowa: "You have to scratch your head when the president spends the last week talking about saving Big Bird. I actually think we need to have a president who talks about saving the American people, saving good jobs." What do you think? Is the Obama camp striking the right chord, or does the ad only compound the adverse effects of the president’s lethargic debate performance.
