The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Yahoo plans to announce it has hired Eric Brown, currently vice president of corporate relations for data storage company NetApp, to run its communications department. The appointment will end a months-long search and settle turmoil among Yahoo’s communicators, WSJ said.

Wal-Mart drops Edelman as agency for consumer communications

Edelman said it lost its consumer communications account with Wal-Mart after the giant retailer opened it for review. Edelman will continue to work with Wal-Mart on corporate communications, public affairs and issue management. No word yet on which firm—or firms—will handle Wal-Mart’s consumer communications.
