Twitter’s chief apologizes to developers, introduces Polls

Jack Dorsey, who recently transitioned from interim to full-time CEO, apologized to developers and said he wanted to ‘reset’ the relationship:

We want to reset our relationship (with developers). We want to make sure that we are learning, that we are listening and that we are rebooting. That’s what today represents. We want to make sure that we have a great relationship with our developers, that we have an open, honest and transparent relationship, and that we are fulfilling and serving every one of your needs.

Twitter is truly unique in that it is a brand, a bird, a logo, that pretty much everyone on the planet has seen at one point in their life. Most importantly, it stands for something. Twitter stands for freedom of expression. We will not rest until that is recognized as a global human right. Twitter stands for speaking truth to power.

Dorsey also asked the Twitter community to make suggestions to improve Twitter using the #HelloWorld hashtag.
