Twitter opens ‘Moments’ to brand managers, ‘influencers’ and more
The platform says its tweet curation feature will eventually be extended to all users, and it is touting the tool with selected users. How will it compare to Snapchat and Instagram?
On Tuesday, the company announced it was opening up its “Moments” feature to selected influential users and brand managers.
The feature—which enables users to craft stories by collections of tweets—was previously open only to the platform’s news partners. In its rollout, Twitter is featuring moments from selected users, including Allure magazine, Budweiser, VaynerMedia and civil rights activist DeRay Mckesson. The tool will eventually be available to all users.
In a company blog post, Twitter wrote:
When things happen in the world, people come to Twitter to see, experience and comment about what’s happening as it unfolds. The stories and voices aren’t always expressed through a single Tweet – they unfold across multiple Tweets and involve various points of view. Moments allow people to capture and experience richer stories reflecting the diversity of Tweets that, together, make Twitter so powerful.
