Trust inequality at an all-time high
In Edelman’s 2020 Trust Barometer, the trust gap between ‘high-information’ audiences and less-engaged demographics reaches a shocking new level.
Trust inequality is at a new high, according to the Edelman’s 2020 Barometer, with a trust gap as expansive as 20 points in some developed markets.
Trust is no longer tied to economic growth in developed economies, as it has been for most markets, but to the income inequality gap. This trust gap is also evident among highly educated, high-information audiences; they report more trust in institutions than less-informed and less-engaged audiences do.
