Police association demands apology from St. Louis Rams players
A group of players came onto the field Sunday with their hands raised in the same way Ferguson protesters have done for the past several weeks. (Update)
There’s a new venue for tensions between Ferguson, Missouri, protestors and police: the gridiron.
As they walked through the tunnel and onto the field for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, five St. Louis Rams players held their hands up in much the same way protestors in Ferguson, Missouri, have been doing since police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Protestors often accompany the gesture with the phrase, “Hands up, don’t shoot,” a reference to (disputed) reports that Brown had his hands up when he was shot.
A few players also held their hands up at other points during the game, particularly after the Rams’ first touchdown, Mashable reported.
