Pabst Blue Ribbon could save the Twinkie
The owner of the hipster beer brand expresses interest in acquiring the troubled company. Plus, people love sex, but hate Facebook; ‘post-pie’ commerce on the rise, flavorful holidays, why you should never use a Durex as a water balloon; and more.
With our country perched on a “cliff” of fiscal adversity, Pabst Blue Ribbon stands as a beacon of hope for hipsters Americans, assuring us that not all hope should be lost. In the face of economic hardship, the brewer grew its consumer base and now it could salvage one of our nation’s most beloved brands. Gothamist reports that PBR owner C. Dean Metropoulos expressed interest in possibly making a bid for Hostess in the event that union mediation can’t save our treasured Twinkies.
UPDATE: Mediation failed, and Hostess plans to continue its path toward closing up shop. No word on whether PBR will swoop in and save the day.
