Newspaper error spotted in ‘Back to the Future’

You may doubt the inevitability of time travel, but I’m still willing to grant both the producers of “Back to the Future” and Mattel two more years to make good on those hoverboards. Nevertheless, I think it’s time for the film’s fact checkers to make good on a long overdue newspaper correction to the Hill Valley Telegraph. After Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) travels to the year 1955, he reads a newspaper with the headline “Eisenhower Vetoes Senate Bill.” However, as New York magazine’s Jonathan Chait notes, a president can’t veto a Senate bill, only one that both houses passed.
