People have criticized the social network, but marketing consultant Chris Brogan says that with more than 90 million users, the site demands your attention.
You may have heard that it’s a “ghost town.” The Wall Street Journal used the term to describe Google+ while reporting on a new comScore study that found the average time spent on the social network was miniscule compared to that of Facebook.
But don’t dismiss Google+. In response to WSJ‘s story, CNet’s Charles Cooper writes:
“On Google+—where I tend to lurk—the conversations are deeper and more varied, especially among people who are passionate about technology. Often you’ll meet someone new on Google+, a perfect stranger who has something smart to say about a topic you’re interested in. How frequently does that happen on Facebook, where you’re more likely to get friend requests from a guy in high school whom you never liked in the first place?”
