Hasbro offers to replace phallic Play-Doh tool after criticism
Brand managers spent the holidays doing damage control after parents accused the company of ruining Christmas with its “frosting extruder” device.
At issue is a tool shipped with the company’s Play-Doh Cake Mountain play set that looks like (there’s no easy way to put this) a penis.
The “frosting extruder” tool is meant to decorate Cake Mountain creations. Instead, it drew the ire of disgusted parents (some said it ruined Christmas) and plenty of jibes on Facebook and in the Twittersphere:
I just died. makers of Play-Doh, is super sorry about selling dildos to children: http://t.co/69zsXOG3DQ pic.twitter.com/7HyYcF7rnG“
