France bans the words ‘Twitter’ and ‘Facebook’ from TV and radio
The government calls it ‘clandestine advertising.’
But the French seem perturbed by this.
In an effort to curb what the government of France calls “clandestine advertising,” broadcasters on radio and TV are now forbidden to use the words “Facebook” and “Twitter” on the air.
Christian Science Monitor reports that it’s “the latest in a long history of attempts to regulate images and words ranging from ‘e-mail’ to Coke in La Republique.”
