Fans melt for M&M’s latest flavor
The popular candy brand is adding a caramel concept to its artillery. So far, consumers are pleased. Here’s the announcement—and a few reactions.
It’s candy season, and M&Ms has captured America’s hearts and headlines with its latest flavor announcement.
Caramel M&Ms are heading to stores in May 2017, according to its parent company, Mars Chocolate. The announcement was made in a press release and on Instagram:

M&Ms has been testing new flavors for years and has seen varying success with pretzel, crispy, peanut butter, S’mores and coffee nut flavors—among others.
An M&Ms rep told CNN:
It was a big technological challenge for us […] we had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse.
