Facebook under fire for privacy issues, again
Officials from 27 European nations plan to investigate the social network after changes it made last month.
The changes, along with wide-spread complaints from users and privacy campaigners across Europe and the U.S. about how Facebook tracks its users online, has led to the social networking site being investigated by the Irish Data Protection Commissioner.
The probe into how Facebook handles its users’ data across Europe will be the regulator’s largest ever and will be conducted on behalf of authorities in 27 European states, including the U.K. It is expected to be completed before the end of the year. The Federal Trade Commission in the U.S. is also considering launching an investigation.
