Facebook tests ad blocking with certain categories
The social media company wants to make some aspects of its ad preference menu more user-friendly and approachable. Here’s what’s to come.
In an unprecedented move, Facebook will permit users to block certain types of ads from appearing in their news feeds.
In a response to feedback from some users that seeing certain types of ads can be painful or unpleasant, the social giant will start testing with blocking some alcohol and parenting ads.
Previously, Facebook only allowed users to opt in to seeing ads around certain topics. This is the first time users will have the option to block an entire category.
