Detroit’s city council president dubbed a Twitter bully
Charles Pugh, a former journalist turned politician, slammed an intern at Automotive News—and now Pugh’s left to clean up the PR mess.
Either way, the media personality turned Detroit city council president was involved in a dustup with Josh Sidorowicz, an intern at the trade publication Automotive News, over a tweet from the young employee. Basically, the intern swiped at Pugh, who responded by firing a virtual machine gun at him.
Sidorowicz, a senior at Michigan State University (according to his Twitter feed), sent this tweet on Saturday: “Wow, love this little piece. Too bad @Charles_Pugh has been such a disappointment for the city of Detroit so far.” The tweet links to a Detroit News story about a video Pugh posted to his website that details his weight loss secrets. The city council president has lost 60 pounds.
Laura Berman, the author of the Detroit News story, questions whether Pugh is devoting too much energy to sharing his weight loss secrets when he should be worried about the city of Detroit. Pugh has said he’s responding to a health crisis in the city.
