Cruz campaign pulls commercial featuring adult film star
The GOP presidential candidate pulled the ad after the senator realized the actress ‘had a more colorful film history than we were aware.’
The campaign’s ads have infused pop-culture references and jokes in between messages attacking the competition:

However, appearing at the ultra-conservative Bob Jones University in South Carolina, Cruz was asked about a former erotic-film actress who appeared in one of his ads. Cruz told reporters that his campaign had pulled the ads on Friday after learning about actress Amy Lindsay’s previous credits.
“It happened that one of the actresses had a more colorful film history than we were aware,” Cruz said.
He later added, “She came and auditioned, and we did not realize her film history. When we did, we decided that prudence dictated pulling the ads.”
The ad takes place in a fictitious therapy session called “Conservatives Anonymous,” in which a Marco Rubio supporter joins.
“Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,” Lindsay tells the group at one point during the spot:
