Cadillac distances itself from ‘alt-right’ casting call
The car manufacturer says it didn’t authorize the move and ‘unequivocally condemn[s] the notice.’ The production company says it terminated the employee responsible.
The luxury car brand is distancing itself from a commercial casting call saying the company was “Looking for any and all REAL Alt-Right believers/thinkers.”
The casting call noted that the spot would film this month and said:
This is a beautifully artistic spot that is capturing all walks of life of America. Standing together as a union. This is not meant to be offensive in anyway. Just a representation of all sides. Thank you.
Reuters published the image of the casting call, which quickly made the rounds in social media, sparking heavy criticism:
So @cadillac, you only want REAL racists in your commercial? Wtf. pic.twitter.com/hjwFkOpu1o

Super horrified that @Cadillac is planning on including neo-nazis in a “feel good” campaign featuring “all walks of life.” Unacceptable. pic.twitter.com/e32Vb10RxA
