Burger King to tap into ‘Tex-Mex’ with new offering
The fast-food chain has crafted another new item to add to its menu—a burrito. To market the entrée, managers are putting a spin on one of the brand’s most well known sandwiches.
Burger King is turning its signature burger into a burrito.
It’s being dubbed, the Whopperito.

It’s the same beef, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles offered in your standard Whopper sandwich, only this time it comes in a tortilla.. Instead of mayo, there’s queso sauce.
“It’s certainly one of the first times that we’ve tapped into the Tex-Mex category,” Alex Macedo, North American president at Burger King, told Bloomberg News. “It’s one of the fastest-growing categories—consumers like the freshness of it. They like the mix of flavors.” CONFERENCE: Learn to engage your employees with storytelling that turns heads. Join us at McDonald’s HQ.
