After Forbes‘ named Williamsburg, Brooklyn the third “hippest hipster neighborhood” in America, you might imagine any true “archetype of ironic living” would be over the trendy enclave by now. Too mainstream.
Alas, the quintessential urban flea market remains a hearth for the skinny-jeaned subculture, which is, in fact, rather protective of its streets. While they may think it’s “deck” (read: “fresh” or “cool”) to ironically frequent Guy Fieri’s critically lampooned restaurant in touristy Times Square, the idea that the TV chef would dare open an outpost in their precious homestead is downright “fin” (read: opposite of “deck”).
