Bosses are making U.S. workers very unhappy
A majority of people surveyed would rather get rid of their boss than receive a salary bump. Do you feel the same way?
In fact, 65 percent of U.S. workers said getting rid of their bosses would make them happier than earning a salary increase.
The disturbing findings—for bosses, at least—are part of a study released this week for Boss’s Day (did you forget? It was Oct. 16.) from psychologist Michelle McQuaid, the author of “Five Reasons to Tell Your Boss To Go F**k Themselves.”
Forbes reported on the study earlier this week.
According to the report, employees think they’d be happier, healthier and more productive with a better boss.
Nearly 70 percent said they’d be happier at work if they got along better with their managers, while almost 60 percent said it would make them more productive and 55 percent said they’d be more successful.
Meanwhile, 73 percent of workers in their 20s and 30s think their lousy bosses are negatively affecting their health. (That number drops to 40 percent among employees 50 and older.)
