Big typo in nation’s biggest skyscraper
An exhibit in Chicago’s Willis Tower misspelled the name of iconic writer Studs Terkel.
For the last 14 years, the writer and raconteur has taken up residence on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) as part of an exhibit on famous Chicagoans.
On Wednesday, however, an advertising executive noticed that Terkel’s name was misspelled—”Turkel”—in bold letters in the exhibit. Kimberley Coyne, vice president of media at Digitas Health, sent a picture of the mistake to media blogger Jim Romenesko, who posted to his blog.
The Chicago Tribune has the story of how Coyne spotted the error.
