Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Report 2016- Logo

Arrow Electronics is careful in its selection of projects to fulfill its CSR mission to guide today’s innovators to a better tomorrow. The organization’s 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Report is a dramatic and emotional reflection of just how well Arrow accomplishes that goal. Because of that, Arrow has won first place in the Report (Annual or One-Time) (Print or Electronic) category of PR Daily’s 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.

The report has no web component; Arrow relies on the distribution of a gorgeous print publication or PDF download. Secondly, the report does a brilliant job of conveying the degree to which the organization invests its money and its people in the projects it chooses.

For example, Indy car racer Sam Schmidt was paralyzed from the neck down in a racing accident. Arrow developed the semi-autonomous motorcar (SAM), initially for Schmidt, with an eye toward delivering driving independence to paralyzed people everywhere.

In Africa, the organization and its nonprofit partner converted used cargo containers into mobile, solar-powered classrooms.

These and other projects are reported with sincerity and authenticity in the visually arresting report, which also features Arrow’s balanced scorecard assessing its performance across 10 categories of engagement. By Arrow’s estimates, its CSR efforts have added enormous brand value to the organization, leading to new business opportunities and creating competitive advantages—the true definition of doing well by doing good.

Congratulations to Arrow’s Joe Verrengia and Alex West for an effective and elegant report.
