Klout ranked the top men’s college basketball teams squaring off this weekend based on the social media buzz they’ve sparked.
This weekend, the University of Kentucky squares off against the University of Louisville, while the University of Kansas goes head-to-head with Ohio State University. The winners meet on Monday in the championship game.
Weeks ago, Schwartz MSL Research Group predicted that Kansas will win the whole thing—and it based that forecast on Kansas’s social media efforts.
Shortly before the tournament started, the agency released a bracket in which the teams advanced based on their Social Media Power Ranking. The Final Four were Duke vs. Memphis and West Virginia vs. Kansas. (Hope you didn’t fill out your bracket based on these criteria.)
With the actual Final Four in place, Klout, the Web platform that measures the influence of social media users, looked at the excitement the teams have sparked online.
