A new report said that 53.6 percent of people, ages 25 and younger, with a bachelor’s degree were underemployed or jobless last year. A PR professional and blogger claimed half of public relations grads will be working at Burger King (and not in the communications department). And Esquire magazine offered a depressing take on the “war on youth.”
That’s the bad news.
The good news companies are still hiring—despite what the statistics might suggest—and they want smart, talented, and hard-working young people to join their staffs. Not to mention more experienced professionals with impressive résumés.
So, if you land an interview, peruse this infographic during your preparation. Be warned that parts of it are embarrassingly basic. For instance, one tips says to type a résumé, don’t write it by hand. Thanks.
