The cost of ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ jumps 6.1 percent
You won’t need to bank Wednesday’s record Powerball to afford the cumulative 364 gifts listed in the holiday classic, but it will cost a small fortune.
Alas, it’s just another bird—one of the 184 fowl gifted in the course of the “12 Days of Christmas,” with nary a Toucan Sam or Tweety in the bunch.
That’s bad enough, but just wait until you see the price tag for all 364 presents, from the birds to the lords a’ leaping to all those damn trees—it’s an absurd $107,300. No, sir.
This is according to the latest Christmas Price Index from PNC Wealth Management, which every year tallies up the cost of the “12 Days of Christmas.” This year’s appraisal represents a 6.1 percent mark-up from 2011, reports the Associated Press.
