5 inspiring quotes from Seth Godin
The entrepreneur and best-selling author lands a new fan who shares a few borrowed phrases from his book ‘Linchpin’ that any business professional can find helpful.
But recently, a friend told me about Seth Godin. I am ashamed to admit that I was only vaguely familiar with the name. For the past 13 years, I’ve been sailing the high seas with Patrick O’Brian, exploring dust with Philip Pullman, and rereading the classics. There has been little time for nonfiction.
Recognizing that I had completely ignored this genre, I decided to start with Godin’s “Linchpin.” I am only 62 pages into the book, and I’m wondering where Seth Godin has been all my life. Here are a few of my favorite quotes:
• “Today, the means of production = a laptop computer with Internet connectivity. Three thousand dollars buys a worker an entire factory.”
• “Today, if all you have to offer is that you know a lot of reference book information, you lose, because the Internet knows more than you do.”
• “All the creativity books in the world aren’t going to help you if you’re unwilling to have lousy, lame, and even dangerously bad ideas.”
