Excelitas Technologies was bent on unifying and inspiring its global workforce.
To do this, it needed an online magazine that sold its ideas and ideals to workers.

Launched in 2014, Excelitas’ 16-page, four-color online employee magazine “X-Change” comes out twice a year. It is devoted to company culture, communication, and collaboration—and recently, to team and individual innovation. Because of the way Excelitas has carried out its ambitious plan to sell innovation, acculturation and collaboration to its employees all over the world, “X-Change” has won this year’s “Best Magazine (Electronic)” category in Ragan’s 2015 Employee Communications Awards.

The Spring 2015 issue of “X-Change” begins with a literate, practical, clear message from Excelitas CEO David Nislick: Our employees must get to know our expanded company and our industry much better. Why? To “meet … the challenge of bringing together [in the last 18 months] so many acclaimed experts, technologies, and brand names under one company.”

Here’s what the three most important stories in the Spring, 20l5 “X-Change” deal with:

  • The Excelitas “Quest for Excellence” World Cup, a continuous improvement competition held for the first time in Athens last year.
  • A KanBan workshop in Excelitas’ Hamble, UK facility that teaches teams how to pursue continuous improvement in production-line processes.
  • A world tour by Excelitas’ top execs. Thirty interactive workshops teach employees about the new culture of communication and collaboration.

The six pages that follow in “X-Change” report on anniversary celebrations, community service, and holiday news from Excelitas offices around the globe, all of which builds global business unity and community commitment.

Congratulations to the Excelitas’ communications team, contributors and staff editors!
