5 ways to land communication gigs
Many companies need PR, marketing, and social media help; these tips and resources will help you find opportunities and stand out from the crowd.
Plenty of communication jobs are out there, but updating your resume on Monster isn’t the only way to reach employers looking for talent. Job-seekers and firms alike can benefit from creative thinking when it comes to projects and job opportunities.
Once you have your portfolio (or about.me page) ready to show off, flex your job-hunting muscles by trying out the ideas below:
1. Use Public Relations Society of America’s online resources. PRSA has a database of jobs for communication professionals that can be searched according to industry, a firm’s organizational structure, your career level, and more.
Pros can search listings within a certain area, but many PRSA chapters also have a job database with opportunities in their respective regions.
Additional resources such as members-only directories, podcasts, webinars, and online discussion forums are available for both PR pros and firms to glean additional knowledge while connecting peers.
