It’s no secret who—or what—dominates the internet: pets.
If you scroll through most social media feeds, you’re bound to find cute pictures of cats, dogs, bunnies, you name it. Not only do people love seeing other people’s pets, they love sharing photos of their own animals.
According to a Mars Petcare survey, 65 percent of pet owners post about their animals on social media an average of twice a week. One in six also said they’ve created a social media account for their pets, and 30 percent of pet owners follow pet celebrities on social platforms.
Pets have become powerful players in the social media influencer game. The most famous pets on the internet have helped their owners ink deals with large organizations and made them a lot of money.
