If you were to guess the best college major for a promising career, what would top your list?
Something related to computer engineering or programming might leap to mind.
You wouldn’t be completely wrong, but those fields don’t top the list, according to CareerCast’s “Top College Degree Programs in 2019.” Salary and hiring outlook were the two key factors considered in compiling the list.
The financial field took two of the top five spots, with “Accounting” landing at No. 1 and “Finance” earning the No. 4 spot.
“Computer and Information Systems” grabbed the second spot. (Your guess wasn’t far off, after all. Well done.)
The health care field also earned two spots: “General Medical and Health Services” and “Nursing.”
Don’t worry, marketers, “Marketing and Market Research” landed at No. 7.
