Maybe it’s because I love seeing Jane Fonda in a role where she’s perpetually high. Perhaps it’s knowing that the show’s most articulate news anchor—played by Emmy winner Jeff Daniels—will always conjure up visions of the notorious toilet scene from “Dumb and Dumber” (something he’s vowed to top in the film’s upcoming sequel).
In any case, I’m left to fill a void in my Sunday night television programming until the show’s (still unconfirmed) third season begins in 2014. Meanwhile, CNN seeks to fill a void in its own newsroom for that timeframe.
