Advanced technology and social media have irrevocably altered the newsgathering landscape, but one of the most important factors in successful pitching is forming personal relationships. There is no substitute for that.
I recently hosted a panel of distinguished broadcast media professionals and PR professionals to discuss how PR pros successfully earn broadcast media coverage for their stories and what producers or reporters are looking to cover.
I was lucky to learn new things, and was able to reinforce other knowledge I picked up in my more than 15 years working with the media.
